So they said the food would take 45 minutes and it took almost 2 hours. They were utterly unhelpful on the phone each time Icomplained. Do not order food from here if you are actually hungry

Below average Indian food.

Absolutely horrible experience. You should stay away. Specifically, food took over an hour and 15 minutes (despite the quick delivery time they claim). I called multiple times (e.g., at 45 minutes, an hour and an hour and 15 minutes), and each time they said the food had already left, however, they forget to clue in the delivery guy to the lies, who stated that he just left the restaurant five minutes ago. Food isn't bad, though, but the service is extremely bad and it will take forever, so beware.

The brunch special is a great value.

After a little bit of a bump with an incorrect order, my food arrived and it was delicious! Well seasoned and flavorful and not terribly expensive. I will be ordering from here again.

Smallest portions I have seen for the price

Awful customer service. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS VENDOR. Seamless estimated 15-30 minutes delivery. After 30 minutes, called the restaurant and they told me "it is going out the door." An hour after that, the food didn't shown up. They didn't have the courtesy to call me and tell me it was going to be over 1 hour late!

Decent north indian. small portions though.

Swagat is a fine choice if you prefer very mildly-seasoned Indian fare. Food quality is moderate, as is the price. You will find no surprises at this venue which, in itself, recommends the restaurant.

Great saag with chickpeas. OK raita. Fairly priced.

For some reason, it's much better to eat in the restaurant. I got it delivered for the first time and the food wasn't that good, it was bland. Better to go into the restaurant to eat.

We ordered rosemary naan, which came an hour late uncooked. When we called then they said they would send new bread in 10-15 minutes. Instead it took another hour and when we got it, it was cold and it was the wrong bread. Horrible service and place, do not order from here.

Order took > 1 hour for delivery. Totally unacceptable.

We ordered 2 vegetarian curries which were very good and tasty but we also ordered spinach pakoras which were really not good at all

Great food, although the side salad was delivered in tinfoil -- tinfoil ONLY. Not sure what that was about...ALSO, I ordered it because it said it would take 15-30 minutes. It took over 45 minutes. *Now I made the mistake of giving them another chance and ordering from them again...It said it would take 30-45 minutes, then we got the confirmation it said 45-60. It has now been 80 minutes and we still haven't received our food yet!!!

Best Chicken Tikka Masala we've found on the UWS and they are always very polite. We love Swagat.

I ordered the Malai Kofta, and it tasted like it had been made with spoiled cream. There was also a 1/2-inch shred of sharp plastic in it! This is the only time I've ordered from them, so I hope my experience was not typical, but I would not try this restaurant again.

Not bad - am from the UK and have struggled to find somewhere somewhat comparable to the Indian placs at home - this is definitely one I'll re-order from.

Spices are really odd. Doesn't taste too great, although it is reasonably cheap for the neighborhood. Still, spend a couple extra bucks and get something infinitely better at, say, Earthen Oven or Tamarind or Indigo or pretty much anywhere else.

Great lunch special, BIG portions, tasty food and speedy deivery. The salad wrapped in tinfoil is weird, but it was fresh, so no problem there

Rice was from last spring and the chicken tikka masala lacked flavor. Nothing to die for.

Delivery took 45 and the food arrived cold. I wanted HOT indian food. Portions were small. I wouldn't order from here again.

chicken tikka masala was disappointing.

Very good Indian for the upper west side, great fast delivery and an amazing deal for lunch special!

I got the chicken Tikki Masala lunch special. Salad came as a ball wrapped in aluminum foil, and the chicken was extremely dry. The naan was stale, and rice was also dry. Sauce was spicy, but certainly not the best. Given the quality of other nearby Indian restaurants, I would not order from here again.

Chicken vindaloo was excellent - one of the best I've eaten either side of the pond.
Posted 2 years ago by chris h.
Awful Indian food. I ordered the Chicken Vindaloo. It was literally like pieces of chicken in Prego tomato sauce with ground pepper in it. Totally generic and gummy Naan. Will never order from here again. Avoid.. much better choices are on seamless.

Awful service, awful food - avoid, avoid, avoid! Took 70 minutes to deliver 3 blocks away (in spite of an estimated delivery time of about 20 minutes). Had to throw away the rosemary naan bread - tasted like dirt. The onion kulcha wasn't much better. Ate the rest, then had stomach upset all night. Worst Indian food I have had in years.

They delivered food on time. The naan, rice, and vegetable samosas were great. However, the chicken tikka masala was very sweet and I ordered very spicy. I would try this restaurant again but I will not order the chicken tikka masala.

This is the best Indian to be had on the UWS. Always tasty, always hot.
Posted 3 years ago by Richard W.
Food it decent but the service is horrible. They've never delivered food within 15-30 minutes. Be warned - it might take up to an hour to get your food, and it won't be nice and warm either.

Food was excellent. However, delivery time listed was 15-25 minutes and it took 90 MINUTES. They weren't even apologetic about it when I called after an hour to inquire or when the delivery guy finally showed up.
